The Baptismal Robe

I’ve seen it all Large and small Smiles ear to ear Some shed a tear Their lives have been transformed As time makes me deformed With love.

They don’t care What they wear They just slip me on As they’re running to the son Their lives have been transformed As time makes me deformed With love.

I lay in the dust With coat hanger rust

But, oh! what a joy! To be worn by a girl or boy Their live have been transformed As time makes me deformed With love.

And when the time comes God’s daughters and sons Step into the cold It’s new from old Their lives have been transformed As time makes me deformed With love.
