Tall Trees

I heard a story this week, about climbing trees. A local Pathfinder Director used to be a logger when he was younger. Back then the safety equipment wasn’t as good as it is today. (It is still one the most dangerous jobs). He told the story of dropping the top off of a tree. He was over 80 feet (24 meters) up when his harness failed. As he fell to certain death, he thought “this is going to hurt.” He broke a bunch of bones, but God saved him that day. He said he knew that God had saved his life for a reason.

He still loves tall trees and enjoys cutting down trees for firewood. He just doesn’t climb them anymore!

Check out the Tree Climbing Honor this weekend.
