What started off as a great story turned into a very hard lesson to learn.
Earlier this week, news broke that the feel-good story team from from Chicago that won the Little League World Series was stripped of their title. The reason? Because they cheated. Now the kids themselves didn’t cheat, but the adults involved cheated by adding players to their team that were not allowed to join the team. Unfortunately, even though the kids won the game, their title was taken from them because the adults lied.
Remember that a lie doesn’t only hurt you, but also the people around you. It’s a hard lesson to learn, but one that is invaluable. It’s always better to tell the truth and face the punishment rather than lie. Trust me.
