James 1:5 – Pastor Foles

Now that Nick Foles has won the Super Bowl MVP, what should he do next?

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles puts God first in all aspects of his life. He is a believer in Christ, a father, husband, son and brother. Earlier last week he spoke to the media about his post football career. Nick plans to become a Pastor. “I want to be a Pastor in a high school,” Nick stated. “It’s on my heart. I took a leap of faith last year and signed up to take classes at Seminary. I wanted to continue to learn and challenge my faith. It’s a challenge because you are writing papers that are biblical correct. You want to impact people’s hearts.”

God places much responsibility on the men and women called to lead and care for his people! There is a much higher standard of personal conduct when you are called to lead, guide, and feed souls. Scripture should be our source of wisdom and discernment when it comes to the role of a Pastor generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”

It is so easy to face new failures and fears and to lose faith in God’s plan for your life. Nick could have easily given up on football. He didn’t and was able to play in the Super Bowl. Nick’s life will never be the same. This a message to everyone: keep working hard – you never know when your chance and when it does, crush it. Now he’s taking another leap of faith in his pursuit towards being a Pastor.

We begin to question if God is real and if He cares about us. I want to encourage you to read your Bible more and trust in our Heavenly Father.
