The Power of a Wolf

A
wolf’s power is from a pack mother.

She
rolls back her lips to reveal a dagger smile

Fiercer
than that of a hypocritical crocodile.

However,
she is gentle when she pushes

Her
young with a burly, furry, black nose-

Therefore, power is identified in gentleness

Which
grows as fragrant as a rose that

Years
perfume with sheathed toes.

As you can probably guess, this poem was inspired by one of Rudyard Kipling’s poems from The Jungle Booklol
