The Not So Best Friends Chapter 9

“Anna, where are my parents? Where are they?” Laura asked me.

“You don’t remember?”

“Remember what, Anna!? What don’t I remember!?”

“Your dad is coming back today, from the hospital. Your mom…She’s…she’s dead, Laura.”

“What!” She said breaking into tears.

“I’m sorry, Laura. I really am.”

“Why are you saying sorry!? Did you kill her!!!? Anna if you did I will never forget!”

“No! No! No! How could you even think that!? Why would you ever think that I killed her!?”

“I…I’m sorry. I shouldn’t blame you. You’re my best friend. You would never do that to me.”

“It’s not your fault. You’re just really upset. And Laura, I want you to know that I’m always there for you. No matter what happens. And I’m not the only one who can help you, Laura. God can help you a lot more than I can help you. All you have to do is read the Bible, follow the ways of Jesus, pray, and believe. I promise that God will answer any of your prayers as long as they aren’t evil, or against the Bible.”

“I believe that God can help me, but I don’t have a Bible.”

“This Saturday, come to church with me, and we can get one. I’m sure the Pastor will have a whole stack of free Bibles inside of the front of the church.”

“Thank you, Anna.”

“Anything to help you, and to help spread the gospel.”

“Anna, I can’t thank you enough for what you’ve done for me. You’re the best friend ever.”

“Laura, you don’t need to thank me. I should be the one thanking you for being nice to me, and for giving me a chance.”

To be continued!
