I was worried about Laura and her parents, but not as worried as Laura was. I couldn’t just leave Laura alone at her house. So I invited her to my house.
“Laura why don’t you come over to my house until your parents get back from the hospital,” I said.
“Thank you Anna. For everything, including being there for me when it was hardest,” Laura said to me.
“Of course! I would never leave you alone, especially right now. We should go to my house, and up to my room,” I told Laura.
We walked over to my house and up to my bedroom. We plopped right down onto my bed. It had been five hours since we had left from the hospital. I have been praying with Laura for her parents to live and for Laura to be comforted.
Ring ring! Ring ring! Ring ring!
It was the nurse calling from the hospital. Laura answered the phone.
“Hello?”
“Is this Laura?” The nurse asked from the phone.
“Yes. Are my parents okay? Are they awake? Can I please talk to them?”
“Well Laura, your mom was driving when the crash happened. And the car was hit on her side. She was not breathing when we got there, and we did CPR while rushing them to the hospital. But it didn’t work. I’m sorry honey, but she didn’t make it.”
“No! You killed her! I know it was you! I hate you! ”
Laura hung up the phone. Laura must be in trauma, I thought. It was hard to see her like this. She didn’t speak to me for the next two weeks. The only thing that she did was call for her mom, every day. She cried so many times. I didn’t know what to say. Two weeks later she was talking again, but I could tell that she was hurt more than she had ever been. Another call came, but she didn’t know why some nurse from a hospital was calling her.
“Anna, why is a nurse calling me?”
“She’s updating you about your dad. Don’t you remember?”
“Remember what? What are you talking about? My dad is home at my house with my mom.”
“You don’t remember do you?”
“Remember what, Anna!?”
“Laura your mom died two weeks ago. She and your dad were in a really bad car crash.”
“No they weren’t! They’re at my house! I’ll show you!”
She went in her house and looked for her parents. She came back after 10 minutes.
“Where are they, Anna?” Laura asked me. “Where are they?”
To be continued!

Poor Laura! 😭 I feel so bad for her. I hope chapter 9 comes out soon!
I feel so bad for Laura! It’s really sad what grief can do to someone. It can turn someone into a totally different person, and without the hope Jesus gives us, that someone will probably never be the same again.
Amazing job, Alyssa!
Thanks!
AMAZING JOBBBB!!! Can’t WAIT for the next chapter!! Wonder how Laura will cope with it!! And what Anna will do! Keep it up and post soon!!
