Hello Guidecos! It’s LegoSophia here! I am so sorry I wasn’t able to post a story sooner. I was extremely busy. Anyway, This is the second-to last chapter of Life at this new school Book 1: As the Fruit of the Spirit only contains 9 “Fruits”. There will be more books, so do not worry.
Anyway, Book 2 will have a new character, acting as Rebekah’s childhood friend. They will reunite in book 2, but I don’t know who will be her new friend! This is why we are having a contest. If you want, you must fill in the information below and then comment it below. Whoever wins will get a special shout-out in the next chapter! And will get their character to be official in the Life at this new school series! Here is the information you must fill out if you are doing the contest.

Now. On with the chapter!

RIIIIIIINGGGGG! The bell rang as the school day was over. It was Friday. And when school was over, the weekend was officially here!
“YAYYYYY! The weekend is here to stay.” Rebekah said to Dorothy and Darius as they were walking home from school.
“It’s just for a couple of days.” Dorothy said. “Plus, we still have, as usual, a TON of homework to do!”
“I know, but now, I can do something really important.” Rebekah said. “The school poster for the Middle school Spring Dance!” As Darius was drinking his water, he choked on a bit just from hearing what Rebekah said.
Cough! Cough! Cough!
“My Goodness!” Rebekah said. “Are you ok?”
“Yeah. I’m fine.” Darius said as he was wiping his mouth from all that water on him with his t-shirt. “It’s just. Not to be mean, or anything. But you? Getting that JOB?”
“Why? You don’t think I can do it?”
“YES! I have seen you draw before. And I have seen better at the school.”
“Well, I just need some practice.”
“With the dance being in 2 weeks and that poster due on Monday? I don’t think so. Why don’t we help you?”
“You can’t draw, either!”
“Guys, STOP!” Dorothy said, breaking up the fight. “Is THIS how we wanna talk? Break it up! God wouldn’t want us to fight like this!”
“You’re right. I’m sorry Darius.” Rebekah said.
“Me too.” Darius said.
“I forgive you!” Rebekah and Darius said at the same time. They laughed for a little bit because of the thought.
“Good,” Dorothy said.
“Now, how much homework does everyone have?”
“I got lucky.” Darius said. “A couple of my teachers forgot and everyone was quiet about it at least.”
“Man. None of my teachers forgot!” Rebekah said.
“It’s ok. Me neither, Rebekah.” Dorothy said. “Oh. This is my stop. See you guys on Monday!” Dorothy waved goodbye.
“Goodbye!” Darius said. As they walked, Darius and Rebekah talked.
“Um. Sooooo….. About the Dance. Has anyone invited you, yet?” Darius said.
“No. I was thinking of going by myself or with some friends.”
“Oh. Well, do you want to go with me?”
“YOU MEAN LIKE ON A DATE?!?!?!?!” Rebekah said in shock.
“No no no. Like friends.”
“Everyone will tease me and you if we go as friends.”
“I don’t care! Please can you go with me?”
“I’ll have to think about it.” Rebekah said
“Oh. This is my spot. See you soon, Darius!” Rebekah said.
“Ok!” Darius said. After Rebekah shut the door, Darius slammed his hand to his forehead. Why did you act so stupid, Darius? Keep it together!

(Saturday Night.)
“There. All done!” Rebekah said as she looked at her portrait. It looked like a mess. The flowers were off, the people looked weird, and even the writing was crooked! “Sigh, I do fail at art.” Rebekah said.
As Rebekah tried fixing her work of Art, Tommy came into her room.
“It’s time for din- Woah ho ho! What is that?!” Tommy said.
“It’s my Masterpiece.” Rebekah said.
“Looks like garbage to me,” Tommy said.
“Whatever.” Rebekah said. “I’m going downstairs for dinner.”
“We’re having your favorite!!!! Fish & Chips! Ha Ha!”
“Great.” Rebekah said with a depressed voice. Really, Tommy? You KNOW I hate Fish & Chips! Rebekah thought in her head.
As Rebekah and her family were eating dinner, Rebekah kept talking about her friends at school and how strange Darius was suddenly acting around her. “I don’t understand! At one point, we were just friends. Now, he’s acting weird around me! He asked me to go with him to the dance!”
“I think he likes you.” Rebekah’s dad said.
“Of course he does. We’re friends!” Rebekah said.
“No. Not like that. I mean that he like likes you.”
“Like as a CRUSH?!” Rebekah said while blushing.
“Yep.” Rebekah’s dad said.
“KEVIN!” Rebekah’s mom said to her husband.
“Sorry babe, but she’s got to know the truth sometime!” Rebekah’s dad said.
“I knew someone would have a crush on you in Middle School!” Layla said.
“Not. Helping.” Rebekah said.
“OOOH. DO YOU LIKE HIM BACK?!” Tommy said.
“NOYB.” (None of your business.) Rebekah said. “Well, I’m going up to my room and finish that portrait. I’m not that hungry, anyway.” Rebekah said as she went up to her room to write in her Diary.
Dear Diary,
Something weird is going around my school. Like everyone thinks we’re like Couple of the Year or something. I don’t have a crush on Darius! Now that I think about it, he does have a crush on me. Man. I have got to tell him sometime that I am not in love with him! Although he is a little dreamy……. Oh man. I have to talk to God about this. Good night Diary.
As Rebekah put her Diary in her special hiding spot, Rebekah went to pray. “God, it’s me. Rebekah. I don’t know what to do right now! There is a LOT going on. Mostly this darn portrait and DARIUS! Please help me as I am going through a difficult time right now. Amen.”
“Wait. Darius. He can help me with my portrait!” Rebekah said. Rebekah quickly got her phone, and dialed the number to Darius’s phone number. Ring! Ring!….. Ring! Ring!
“Hello?” Darius said.
“Hi. Listen. I need your help with the portrait. You really are the best painter in the school, and I need some help. Could you help me?
“Yeah. How about 1:00 Tomorrow at the School Park?”
“Yep. See you then!”
“See you, bye!” Darius said as he hung up the phone.
As Rebekah went to bed, she dreamed of how every one would compliment her when they saw her portrait.
(The Next Day)
Rebekah was at the park, waiting for Darius. What is taking him so long? Rebekah thought.
Suddenly, “Whew. Sorry I’m late.”
“That’s ok.” Rebekah said. “Anyway, before we begin, is it ok if I show you a Bible verse I came upon in my study?”
“Sure.” Darius said.
“Ok! Here it is. It says-“
To slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone. Titus 3:2.
“Um. Rebekah?” Darius said.
“Yeah?”
“Well, that was rude of me to argue with you on Friday. And you’re not that bad of an artist. Can you forgive me again?”
“Of course! Just be more gentle on me next time!” Rebekah said as she opened her arms for a hug.
“Um. I don’t do hugs. High five?”
“Why not a hug?” Rebekah said.
“Uhhh. No reason!” Darius said. “Anyway. The first step is to gently draw lightly.”
“Uh. Like this?” Rebekah said.
“Yeah. Like that!” Darius said.
(The Next day)
“Wow. You really did a good job on these posters for the Spring Dance!!” Dorothy said as she helped Rebekah hang up the posters.
“Thanks!” Rebekah said. As the popular girls were approaching Rebekah, she gulped in fear. As they approached her, Darla stood right in front of her.
“Hmm. Nice Poster. You’re actually not as bad as I thought.”
“Re-Really?!” Rebekah said, blushing with the thought that a popular girl was nice to her.
“Yeah. But DON”T expect me to be this nice to you often.” Darla said. “Come on, girls. Let’s go.” Darla said as the popular girls walked away.
“Woah. That NEVER happens. I can’t believe she actually wasn’t mean to you!” Dorothy said.
“Yeah. Me too!”
The End.

Wow! Amazing job. I like how Rebekah handled the situation with realizing that Darius had a crush on her. And also, I like how you stretched the plot out without making it seem overly long. Anyhoo, I’ll go ahead and enter the contest!
Full name: Genesis Carla Martinovič
Gender: Girl
Age: (same as Rebekah, but I forgot if she’s 11 or 12…)
Birthday: May 15
(I think an MBTI is, like, a personality, so…): Ambivert, reserved (until you get to know her, then she can be as talkative as all get out), and a slightly mischievous and playfully spiteful streak.
Hair color: Shiny strawberry
Race: Caucasian (basically just a fancy word I learned for light-skinned or white)
Hobbies: Reading, volleyball, and dancing
Parents/siblings: Military father, a mother, and one little brother named Denver
Christian: Somewhat
Additional details: I say she’s a “somewhat” Christian because she’s basically just Christ-like when she feels like it. She has mood swings that are sometimes bizarre and confusing, and they leave you wondering how on earth her brain computes with different emotions that quickly, let alone how she expects yours to do it! She’s a straight-A student as well.
You’re doing really well with this series, LegoSophia! And bonus points for interacting this much with your audience!
Thank you so much, JOJO! Also, for what you’ve entered for the contest, I like it! I will definitely consider it! (And if their is no one else entering, I’m going to do it!)
lol thanks, LegoSophia. The contest was really fun to do! I admire your ability to have someone else make up a character that you’re going to use and then roll with it. That is a skill I have yet to acquire. You’re amazing! God is using you, LegoSophia.
