Kaylee Goes Camping, Chapter 4

Kaylee, Harper, and Lara struggled to get the tent out of the car. “How do you make a tent?” Kaylee asked as she looked at the jumbled mess in tent bag.

Harper giggled. “You don’t make a tent, you set it up. I will show you.” After a lot of instruction from Harper, the girls eventually got their tent set up.

“That was so much work!” Lara said as she wiped the sweat off her forehead.

“Can I bring my stuff now?” Kaylee asked.

“Sure!” Harper replied as she unzipped the tent door. Soon, the girls were setting up their cots and fixing their sleeping bags. There was a light tap on the tent wall.

“Are you guys doing alright in there?” Harper’s mom, Ms. Lucy asked.

“We’re good mom!” Harper replied. The three girls plopped unto Lara’s cot.

“I have cards!” Lara exclaimed. “Egyptian Rattle Snake!” She said as she excitedly set up the cards.

1 hour later…

The smell of food wanted into the tent. “I am soo hungry!” Harper complained.

“Is that your dad cooking? It smells a-mazing!” Lara said.

“Girls, it’s time to eat lunch!” Mr. Jason called out. Before the girls came out of their tent, they heard Mr. Jason say, “Oh man!”

What’s the matter? Kaylee thought. That’s when the girls heard the light pit-pat on the tent progressively getting louder.

“Rain??” They all exclaimed.
