It’s a battle I can’t win,
But it’s not too big for Him.
A mountain sits atop my shoulders,
And it’s starting to add more boulders.
Human is wicked, tricksy, greedy,
Divine is beautiful, compassionate, trustworthy.
The weight of humanity is crushing
And sometimes it feels like I’m crashing
Down to an abyss where there is no bottom;
Humanity is waiting in a dwindling autumn.
Backbones are only things in science,
But we need them more in conscience.
Where’s our spine when our faith is challenged?
Where’s our spine when right and wrong have collided?
I need to find it, I need to find it, I need to find it,
I need to figure everything out and get it sorted.
But is that my job, or is that God’s?
I’ll give it to God, because He’s righteous.
I’ll be the sword, let Him be the swinger,
When things go wrong, let Him be the fixer.
Because I’m human, and poor judge am I,
But God’s God, and He’s divine.

If you all have any story ideas, let me know, because I’m out. Please give me just a brief summary of what you think the story should be about, and maybe something will spark my imagination 🙏
Could you post the stories I’ll be posting in the discussion board?
If you want to, search up in the discussions New Series
I saw it, and it looks really cool, but it’s your work, so you should probably post it. I, for one, don’t believe that you use AI, and you’re work is powerful.
They don’t post it normally.
I know, but I still like your writing. Everyone starts somewhere, and I don’t believe that you use AI. It’s not bad to have family and friends proofread! I hope that they publish it.
This poem really spoke to me. I love how it honestly shows the struggle between our human weakness and God’s strength. The imagery of carrying a mountain and searching for a backbone of faith is powerful, and the ending is a beautiful reminder that we don’t have to carry every burden ourselves—we can trust God to lead. “I’ll be the sword, let Him be the swinger” is such a memorable line. Thank you for sharing this encouraging and faith-filled piece!
You’re welcome! I’m so glad that it spoke to someone.
