The man in the door waved as he sat down at the table next to Laina’s mom. “It’s been a long time, how are you?” he said.
“Good, fine.”Lainas mom replied. It in fact had been a long time. Longer than Laina can remember.
“Why are you here, dad?” Naomi asked.
“Is it a problem for a dad to see his old children again? I miss you guys.” he said, hugging each one of them. He shot a dirty look at Mom.
“Still not going to forgive me, huh?” Mom said with a bored look on her face.
“I will never forgive you! You did unforgivable things!” Dad yelled.
“Its been seven years! No one has ever held a grudge that long!” mom screamed. They started arguing.
“I can see why they got divorced” whispered Brayden to Luke. They quietly went upstairs.
Two hours later, Laina went to her mom’s room. She sat on the bed with her mom. “Hey mom, what did dad mean when he said what you did was unforgivable?”she asked.
Mom sighed and said “I killed his mom. On accident. When we were on that trip to the Grand Canyon for our anniversary, me and his mom got into a fight and she pushed me, so I pushed her back, and she fell into the canyon. I pushed so hard she went through the safety rails. I didnt mean to though. I can’t imagine my mom dying like that. I get why he won’t forgive me.”
“You know what, mom? God forgives you, if it was an accident. He knows you didnt mean it. And you can pray for dad to forgive you. Think about it.” Laina said as she walked out the door.

Whoa. OK. I can see why you put up the “sad warning” on the last chapter. But I still loved it! There’s so much intrigue and drama!
