“I’m home!” Mama says as she walks through the door with a box of pizza.

“Yay! Pizza! yell Brayden, Luke, Naomi, Phoebe, Gabby, Jeremiah, Gracie,and Mark. Laina calmly walks down the stairs. Being in the middle was surprisingly hard, especially considering that she was more mature than her older siblings.

Laina sits down at the dinner table to eat when she hears meowing from outside.

” Is that… meowing?” questioned Laina.

“Look out the window!” Gabby exclaimed.

Five kittens are meowing and sitting on the window sill outside.

“Aww so cute” Phoebe squeaked.

“I’ll go feed them!” Laina jumped to the back door.

“Hey! Come back! You can’t just go feed them. We need to find a way to make it fair!” said Jeremiah.

“Oh, just let her go.” Mama says.

“Yes!!!” yells Laina as she runs through the door.

“Favoritism!” yells Mark.

Laina quietly tiptoes to the kittens with a bowl of cat food.

“Awww!” she exclaimed.

But then she paused. What was that sound?  She hears a “sssss” sound. Then she sees a long brown slithering snake.

“Oh God, please help me!” she yells.
