Hi, everyone! This is my first story in the whole history of all Guide, so I hope y’all enjoy! (BTW, I just quickly wrote this, and I might not remember all the details because this is a true story!) Don’t mind the kitsune. That’s Yuki. She just wanted to say hi and see your pretty faces. If she’s not there, she decided to go get some zZz 😁

OK. OK. OK. Welp. I wanted to go to a camporee. That’s it. Psych!

So, I wanted to go to AUC (Atlantic Union Camporee), because some friends I have on Zoom that I’ve never met before were going there. So I basically wanted to see my friends. (OK, I have to admit, I feel sorry for you all. If I was reading this, I would be so bored I’d go to the next story!) Well, the thing was, my Pathfinder group WAS NOT GOING. 😭😭😭😭😭Well, I still wanted to go, right? Well, YEAH. BUT. I needed tickets, right? Nope. The tickets were sold out. AND I needed a ride. My pathfinder director (I’ll keep her privacy by not saying her name, lol, but you can find out) recommended a pathfinder club that she KNEW was going, and that she trusted, the Upper Valley Maples. I didn’t really want to go with people I didn’t know the greatest, but it looked like it was the only way.

At least in my eyes.

So, I was doing whatever I do on a calm, boring evening, (and no homework, I’m homeschooled) and I am VERY good at eavesdropping and knowing what’s going on around me. So, I heard mama on a call with Jim, the NNEC Pathfinder director (I’m pretty sure that’s his role) and she was putting random information on a random page on her phone.

Not random!

I guessed it was my ticket. I was right! So, I got to go to AUC. The end!

NOPE!!!!!

We talked later that evening…

Mama was taking me there! That was the first Pathfinder camporee she attended with me, because my pathfinder director took me to the other ones, including Gillette (Gillette was cool, and I was in a camper, so I was safe). It meant more than she knew to me that she was coming.  So, we packed and packed and packed, and we got all our stuff packed (I procrastinated on packing, though, until a day before the camporee!!!), and I wanted to know what car we were going in. I thought we were taking our Honda Pilot Touring, but I heard the DEPRESSING news that we were taking Daddy’s messy, wood chip filled HONDA CIVIC! Now, if you don’t know what those cars look like, you should definitely look them up. It’s a BIG size difference.

Well, I stuffed my big stuff, and her big stuff into the car, and then we went to WALMART. WALMART. If you knew my mom, WALMART is NEVER a good idea when you are trying to save space and time. I think it applies to all moms. 🤪

Three hours after arriving at Walmart, we arrived back to the tiny car in the parking lot with a cartful of random camping items. 😫

FINALLY we started our LONG 5 1/2 HOUR trip from MAINE to CONNECTICUT.

*************************************

We got there and set up camp and ate dinner. Supper. Whatever you call it. We went to the evening program. Climb Higher. Nice theme! At the end of the program, the person on stage asked a big wig to come on stage and officially open the 2026 Atlantic Union Camporee, themed Climb Higher, which is the story of the showdown with Elijah, and God vs. Baal.

The man said: *paraphrased*
“This 2026 Atlantic Union Camporee is officially open!!!!!!!”

I felt the excitement in my bones. My blood pumped through my veins 3x faster. I stood up and screamed and clapped with all the others, but I don’t know if I was the only one who meant it. Maybe, maybe not. But God had made a way for me to experience this amazing camporee. He is truly The Waymaker.

*****************
It was an amazing camporee. Me and Mama took away some amazing memories we will never forget. (She might; her memory is bad🤣🤣🤣🤣) BTW, I DID see my Zoom friends. They were WAY shorter than I thought! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤪 I was taller than all of them, even the Pathfinders 🥸🥸🥸😶‍🌫️😶‍🌫️😶‍🌫️🫠🫠🫠🤫🤫🤫💀💀💀

🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳💃💃💃💃💃💃🎊🎊🎊🎉🎉🎉🪅🪅🪅🎈🎈🎈IF YOU SURVIVED TILL THE END THEN PLEASE COMMENT IF YOU CAN, TELL ME IF YOU LIKED IT OR NOT AND WHAT I SHOULD DO FOR THE NEXT ONE!!!! CONGRATULATIONS FOR SURVIVING I’M SOOOOOO SORRY IF THIS WAS BORING!!!!!!!!!!

If I forgot to say, I was trying to say that God can make a way, even if it looks hopeless, or even if you just WANT to do something, even if you aren’t thinking about it 24/7. He wants to make us happy, and he knows what’s best!

  1. Yes, He does! This was awesome, DOODLE! lol I can relate to the short-friends thing. I’m taller than most of my friends, usually by a head or so. It’s awesome when parents come to camporees. I’m glad that you got to go! And for your next one (at least, I hope I see more), I’d say to just go where God leads you! 😉
