
Sarah-Marie Scale, known to Guide readers by her pen name B.J. Jordan, won the Student Longform Feature Writing Award at the Society for Adventist Communicators convention in October. She won for the story “Faith 7” that appeared in the February 22, 2025, issue of Guide. The judges commented, “Excelled in all criteria, including creativity, idea development, and writing quality” and “creative and original, this piece uniquely blends history and faith lessons. Its bold structure and engaging style make it a memorable and compelling feature.” Sarah-Marie’s is 17 years old, making her one of the youngest — if not the youngest — writer to be awarded at the convention.
