This is Dolores .She is 12. She is like her friends except for one thing — she does not believe in God .
One day she went up in her great grandfathers attic and found a book titled Liber Responses. When her hands touched the book the letters started glowing. She opened it and it read :
There once was a king of a great kingdom everyone loved and showed great devotion to him except one of his highest workers, Sedanic. He thought he could be better then the king himself. He told many of the workers to come join him in a revolt. But the remaining workers beat him .The king was forced to send Sedani and all his followers out of the kingdom and far away since Sedanic plotted to destroy the king. Many people who passed thorough this land were locked in his dungeon and they refer to this evil place as Portentes Moribundia .
Dolores was astonished that there were directions in the back of the book showing wheree the door was and she set out to find it.

My heart was beating fast. “I have to tell Thomas,” I whispered. I put the book under my jacket and said, “I have to find the door.”
I rushed to Thomas’ house. Thomas greeted me with a “What’s up Dory?” I didn’t even mention to him that I hated being called that.
“I need to talk to you alone. NOW,” I said. Then I told him everything. I showed I’m the glowing book and the map.
“You wanna come and help me find the door?”
“Sure,” he said. “Let me just tell my mom and pack us some water.”
I groaned because I did NOT want to wait! Soon he came out and said, “My mom told me I could take some cookies with us!”
We ran through the woods following the direction north using my compass that my father had given me. It used to belong to grandfather, and my great grandfather, so treasured it deeply. Eventually we came to a stone wall. There was a wooden door in the wall. There were words on it.
I read it out loud, “Who ever enters shall not return for lessons that he can not learn. The shadows writhe. The fire burns. And hope is left to overturn. This is the land of Portentes Moribundia.
“I’m not going in there, Dolores.”
“Yes you are.” I opened the door and yanked him in. I felt a whirling sound and then I was dropped into a mysterious land.
There were trees without leaves and crows all around squawking in an eerie way, the ground was muddy but it wasn’t wet. Thomas and I thought the same thing for we both rushed to the door only to see it shimmer away into thin air.
“It was a portal,” I whispered under my breath. Suddenly from behind us us I heard footsteps me and Thomas spun around to see a man in dark clothes with his face covered standing before us.
He said, “Well Well Master Sedanic will be happy to see you two. Come with me to his dungeon — the Dungeon of Lost Hope.

Cookies, water, a map, and parents’ permission was seriously all the plan they had? What’s going to happen now?

It’s OK! But seriously, this is SOOO good! Preview or not!
thank you so much 🥰
By the way, what does “Portentes Moribunia” translate to? Or is it just a fun name you came up with?
portent or portentous means something bad about to happen and moribund means dying I just made is Moribundia cause it sounded better it describes the place pretty good and man that just sounds pretty cool😝
No kidding!
