Tough Season

Yesterday was a day of “mourning” at Spencerville.

Both our boys soccer team and girls volleyball team lost in the second round of the playoffs. It was a huge disappointment because both of our teams were poised to go to the championship. One thing I had to re-learn though was that there are always two sides to a coin. This means that there will always be a winner and there will always be a loser. Unfortunately, we lost games yesterday. While it was hard to accept, it was a good lesson in humility and good sportsmanship. I wasn’t at the soccer game but after a brutal loss, my volleyball team kept their heads up and shook hands with the other team.
It was nice to see that at the end of the day, it’s just a game. Even I forget that at times. It’s nice to be reminded every now and then. Happy Sabbath!
P.S.
When’s the last time you lost a big game? How did you feel?
