No Excuses

A couple of weeks ago, New York Knicks player Amar’e Stoudemire admitted something to the entire league.

At the beginning of the season, Stoudemire signed a contract with the Knicks worth exactly $99.7 million. That’s a lot of money! Stoudemire has also been playing the NBA for a decade, but the one thing he never learned was how to play defense. In fact, Stoudemire admitted to it. His excuse was that no one ever taught him how to move his feet properly.
My opinion is that this is a lame excuse. If you been doing something for 10 years and you haven’t bothered to learn a crucial part of it, then that’s on you. It’s silly to think that in the 10 years he played in the NBA, he never thought to hire someone to teach him everything he needs to know. Honestly, it’s the same thing in Christianity. Now is the time to learn everything you can about your faith. If God were to come back now, and ask a supposed Christian why they lied all their life, do you think it would be fair for that Christian just to say, “No one ever told me”?
Nope.
No excuses, you all. Make 2013 the year of no excuses. Happy Sabbath!
