The famous saying goes, “Don’t count your chickens before they’re hatched.” Meghan Rutledge found that out the hard way.
Last Saturday, Meghan Rutledge was in first place on the final lap at the women’s moto Z 12-lap race. What made it sweeter was that she was beating the current, two-time champion Vicki Golden. In the final meters of the lap when it looked like Rutledge had it won, this happened:
