Matthew 26:40 – Penalties of Leadership

Matthew 26:40 gives a small taste of what it’s like to be a leader.

After Jesus came back from praying by himself, He found the disciples asleep. During this time, Jesus was under a lot of stress because He knew it was close to the time that He would have to die. To paint the proper picture, Jesus was disappointed by his disciples because He was under a lot of stress. Jesus knew that this would be one of the hardest parts of His journey on Earth. He would have to do it alone.

This story reminds me of how sometimes leaders can’t rely on their friends for comfort; sometimes leaders have to go it alone. It’s a tough journey, but you can make it. Pushing yourselves through a tough time will help you become a stronger person and a better leader.
