Hebrews 12:1 – Lightning Bolt

Over the weekend, Usain Bolt placed second won in his last professional race ever.

This will be the last time Usain participates in this event as he is now retired. He has the nickname “Lightning Bolt” due to his name and speed. It has just seemed like Usain was born to become to fastest man alive, and win gold medals. However, Usain does have other interests; he enjoys playing dominoes, cricket, and soccer. It’s not discussed a lot, but Usain gives back to his home country Jamaica as he does more than just races.

Finding out that information really challenged me. We need to do more. When I was younger I wanted to be a professional athlete, however that wasn’t in God’s plans for me. I can still use my athletic skills, and be a witness for God.

We need more Christians that will be willing to witness for God, and spread the gospel. Hebrews 12 states “And let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.”

Below is a commercial from Verizon with a couple of professional athletes reminding us that we need less of them and more of YOU.
