Galatians 6:18 – Do Good to Everyone

This year’s NFL season hasn’t begun yet, but a story from one of my favorite guys Michael Bennett has my attention – for all the right reasons.

Michael, a key member of the Seattle Seahawks defense, has vowed to give not some, but all of his endorsement money to charity. All of his money from his endorsements to minority community’s development in STEAM, which stands for Science Technology Engineering Arts and Math. Not everyone gets an opportunity like this, so this is why Michael’s pledge is a big deal.

Michael saw a void in the community around him that he knew he could help fill, so he led others in making a change. It’s easy to point out a problem, but taking initiative and having the courage to lead others is admirable.

When Jesus was on earth he didn’t let how He felt that day, or a person’s status play a factor in deciding whether or not He would help. Galatians 6:10 encourages us that as followers of Christ, we too shouldn’t be hesitant to do what’s right, and lend a helping hand when given the opportunity. As God blesses us, lending a hand to another person is a great way for us to show our gratitude, and praise for what He’s done. Let’s honor God for all He’s done for us and help other’s the best we can in our everyday life.
