Colossians 3:3 – Covered by Christ

In Colossians 3:3, it reads “For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” But what does that mean? I’m still alive. How have I died?

Team sports talk about the concept of the name on the front of the jersey being more important than the name on the back. Let’s explore that a little bit more. What this means is that the team is more important than the individual player. Even though a team is made up of individual players, those players have to set aside their personal goals to unify and work for the common good of the team.

That’s the thought that God is trying to convey in this verse. Because we are Christians, we should put aside our personal goals to work for the benefit of the God. It’s almost as if all of us are hidden within the Christ Himself?

What personal desires have you set aside in order to help benefit the Christian team?
