Tony and the Mysterious Farm, Chapter 4

Tony and the Mysterious Farm – Part 4

The dragging sound thundered through the tunnel.

Tony clutched his fallen bike, eyes wide as the metallic creature slid into the chamber. Its smooth body gleamed under the pulsing lights, humming like a giant, living engine.

Tony braced for something terrifying.

But instead…

The machine stopped.

Its glowing slit flickered.

Then it made a sound Tony never expected.

A cheerful “ding!”

Tony blinked.

The creature’s metallic plates shifted and rotated with a series of soft clicks. Panels folded outward. Shapes rearranged.

Until—

Tony’s jaw dropped.

It wasn’t a monster.

It was a machine.

A strange, round, chrome-plated machine covered in blinking lights… and a large screen that lit up with bright letters:

LOST & MISPLACED OBJECT RECOVERY UNIT

Tony stared.

“…What?”

Mr. Eduardo sighed with visible relief.

“Oh good,” he muttered. “It’s in a friendly cycle.”

The machine cheerfully rolled forward and projected a glowing image into the air:

Tony’s blue bike… followed by dozens of other bicycles.

Another “ding!”

Then a new message appeared:

ITEMS SAFELY STORED
PLEASE CLAIM YOUR PROPERTY

Tony looked around in disbelief.

“All this…” he said slowly, “…is a lost-and-found?”

“In a manner of speaking,” Mr. Eduardo replied. “It collects things that wander into unstable zones. Keeps them safe.”

The machine extended a thin mechanical arm and gently placed Tony’s bike back onto the ground.

Perfectly polished.

Even the loose reflector was fixed.

Tony’s fear evaporated, replaced by amazement.

“That’s… actually awesome.”

The machine gave an enthusiastic whirl of lights, clearly pleased with itself.

Moments later, Tony climbed back out of the hatch, bike in hand.

Outside, the fog lifted.

The sky brightened.

The farm looked completely ordinary.

Tony turned to thank Mr. Eduardo—

But the man was already walking away across the field.

“Wait!” Tony called. “Who are you really?”

Mr. Eduardo only waved.

“Just someone who keeps things from getting too lost.”

And with that, he vanished into the sunlight.

Tony rode home faster than ever, grinning the entire way.

Because no one would ever believe him.

And honestly?

He wasn’t even sure he believed it himself.

But his bike had never worked better.
