Mom woke me up and said, “Time for school!”
I was nervous. My brother was a grade behind so he was still going Oakwood elementary. Most of the time I was perfectly fine with him in a different classroom, but going to a new school and all, I kinda wanted him to be there. Oh well!
I got up and dressed in a cute top with some shorts. I came out of my room and walked down stairs. I heard Joshua complaining about waking up and I laughed and hollered, “Summer is over. No more sleeping in!”
I happily saw that mom had made pancakes with whip cream.
Ariel was smiling.”I can’t wait to see Lily!” she said. ”
At least you get to see your friends,” I mumbled.
Joshua stumbled down the stairs and said, “Ugg, it’s so early!”
After we ate, all of us double checked our backpacks to make sure we had everything we needed and then we stood in front of the door for the bus to come. Me, Joshua and Ariel were going on different buses. I was going on the bus for my new school and Joshua and Ariel were going on the Oakwood Elementary school bus.
Soon my bus came. I kissed my mom on the cheek. “Bye,” I said and I nervously stepped on the bus.
I looked for a seat on the bus and sat down. Two girls walked up. “Can we sit here?,” said the one with black hair.
“Sure,” I said.
“My name is Jasmine,” she said. “And this is my bestie, Elsie.
“Hi Elsie,” I said shyly.
“You must be be new,” Jasmine said.
“Yeah, I used to go to Oakwood.”
“Oh cool I heard that they won the Track team championship!”
“Yeah, they did,” I said feeling proud.
Just then I girl with short blond curly hair walked on to the bus. “Hey losers!” she sneered. “And who are YOU?”
“Just get lost,” Jasmine said, rolling her eyes.
“Fine losers,” the girl said and strutted to a seat on the the bus.
“Who was that?” I asked.
“That’s Janie,” Jasmine said with slight disgust. “She came last year and was so mean. She was such a jerk!”
“I know,” Elsie agreed. Soon we got to Edison Middle School. I walked with my new friends Jasmine and Elsie into the building and whispered a silent prayer: God please help me to do good in school and I pray I wont have problems with that girl, Janie. Amen.
