Just Jacqueline

I groaned as my little sister Ariel shook me and said, “Wake up Jacki.”

“What time is it?” I grumbled. I pulled out my phone. It said 6:30. “Ariel why did you wake me up at 6:30!

“Don’t you know what day it is!!!”

“Ya, I know, but I don’t want to wake up just for a birthday!”

“It’s not just ANY birthday. It’s my seventh birthday and at 3:27 exactly, I’ll be 7.”

“Fine ill wake up,” I mumbled .as got up and told told Arial to scat.

I changed my clothes and put on some make-up and stumbled out of my room. I peered into my brother’s room. He was my age, 13, but I was five months older (which I was quite proud of).

“Wake up, Joshua!” I yelled.

But all I heard was “Shut up. It’s like 6 o’clock.”

“I have one more sibling, Emma. She is  in college but I think she gonna be here for Ariel’s birthday. I walked out  to our balcony and looked at all are property and woods. We used to live in the city but we had to move cause here it pays more for mom’s job. I miss living in Chicago, though winter was cold!

That’s were my bestie lived. Her name is Veronica but everyone calls her Vera. Here on our property we all explore and once Dad helped us build a tree house. Well, that’s when Dad was around. But he’s gone now. He lives with some lady named Sal. Its was pretty hard on all of us, but we’re fine now, though I still do miss him. But nothing we can do about it now.

I heard Ariel yelling for Joshua to get out of bed so I better go help!

  1. I look forward to the next chapter! I just have one question. Is Joshua a stepbrother? Cuz realistically speaking, it would kinda be impossible to be that close in age any other way. Just curious!
