Life at this new school. New adventures. Book 1: Fruit of the Spirit. Chapter 7: Faithfulness

Hey Guidecos! So sorry I haven’t been able to post my stories in so long! But this announcement is different. The Atlanta Metropolitan SDA church is a SDA church in Atlanta Georgia. Well. For their Atlanta Metro Life Newsletter, They sometimes use some of our stories for their kid section. (Like me, Selena Woods, and JULIA ASSIS stories as some examples.) But with these newsletters, I noticed something about it. Like there isn’t anything wrong with it. Except one thing. That they don’t add the writer’s name to the Guide stories. They don’t give credit to the writer of the Guide story. Which is why, Atlanta Metropolitan SDA church, if you are reading this, it is my request to kindly ask you to add the Guide writers username to the Guide story they have written on your newsletter. Thank you. Now on with the Chapter!

Ah school. What fun. Rebekah thought as she went on the bus. The bus was loud, as usual, and that wasn’t fun. Until she saw Darius saving a seat for her right next to him. It always made Rebekah smile to see such a caring friend.

“Hey Rebekah. I have something to tell you.” Darius said as Rebekah was daydreaming. “Um. Hello, Rebekah? Are you there? HELLO?! Earth to Rebekah?”

“Oh. Sorry. What were you saying?” Rebekah said as soon as the bus went to a halt.

“I’ll tell you later. But we have to get to class!” Darius said as they walked through the school doors.

As they walked to their lockers, they waved goodbye at each other. But then Rebekah heard something that made her embarrassed. “Rebekah and Darius, sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G! HA HA HA!” Rebekah looked in rage to see who sang that. It was Darla. They were in the same Drama Class. She was a rich kid that was spoiled to the core. And was also one of the popular kids. As Darla and the rest of her friends laughed hysterically, Rebekah was blushing in embarrassment and rage.

Rebekah made the bold decision to just give them “The look” and walk away. She knew she did the right thing. Plus, she also didn’t have time to argue with them, as the bell rang for class.

As Rebekah was going to classes, she was thinking to herself that maybe, School wasn’t fun at all. After all, being in 6th grade was hard. And she was getting bullied and teased for many things. One of them was for being friends with a boy that everyone thought she liked. I’m not just friends with Darius. I have more friends, too! Like Dorothy. Yeah. Maybe I can talk to her about this. Rebekah thought to herself. She was totally distracted on her thoughts, while not even noticing Darius tapping her shoulder!

“Rebekah. Rebeekahhh. Hello?” Darius said. Hmm. That’s weird. She ALWAYS responds to my questions. Well, I guess I can tell her the big surprise at lunch. She’s going to LOVE it! Especially since we will be next to each other during the whole thing! Darius thought when he got his lunch on his plate and while going to the lunch table.

During lunch, Dorothy, Rebekah, and Darius were having such a great time chatting that Darius totally forgot to tell Rebekah about the surprise! He had already told Dorothy. But he just needed to tell Rebekah. When it was 5th period, he realized. I forgot to tell her about the surprise! But he knew that during the last period, 6th period, history, that he would be able to tell her.

In the 6th period, Darius secretly passed a note to Rebekah. The note said.

I was able to get tickets for you, me, and Dorothy to see the new movie School Life! We can see it tomorrow night, 6:00. But you’re going to have to do all of your homework tomorrow after school!

He was able to get tickets?! Rebekah thought in her head. Well, sign me up!

                                   —————————————

After school, Rebekah, Darius, and Dorothy met up near the entrance of the school building. “Here’s one ticket for each of you.” Darius said to the girls. “But just letting you know, I’m not paying for snacks! You’re going to have to bring your own money for that.”

“I just texted my parents. They said I can go if I complete my homework tomorrow!” Dorothy said.

“Mine too!” Rebekah said. “Hey, look, Darius. We’re going to be sitting next to each other!”

“Heh. Yeah” Darius said slightly blushing.

“Well well well.” Steve said. “If it isn’t Rebekah with her little boyfriend-”

“He’s not my boyfriend, STEVE.” Rebekah said.

“Right, right, and her other blonde friend.”

“It’s Dorothy.” Dorothy said.

“Gotcha. Ya know, I just saw the movie myself. It was pretty garbage. But that’s Hollywood these days. You guys enjoy. While I enjoy getting to see you bullied.”

“You take that BACK!” Rebekah said

“NEVER.” Steve said walking away.

“Just don’t try to worry about him.” Dorothy said. “They’re just mean, anyway.”

The next day after school, Darius, Rebekah, and Dorothy were excited to go to the theater to see the new movie.

Until…. “Guys, I don’t think I can go with you to the movies. I have this test coming up and it’s going to take FOREVER to study!” Dorothy said.

“Oh no!” Rebekah said.

“Oh dear!” Darius said.

Hmm. Maybe Darius and I can help her with her studying! That would work! Rebekah thought in her head. “I can help you study in time for us to see the movie!” Rebekah said.

“I can help, too!” Darius said.

“Aww. Thanks, guys! You really are faithful to your friends!” Dorothy said.

“Wait. Faithful. What does that mean?” Rebekah said.

“It means to remain loyal to anything. Like you guys are being faithful to me by helping me with my homework before the movie starts!” Dorothy said.

“Is there a Bible verse to tell us this?” Rebekah asked.

“Yeah, here. Let me find it on my phone.” Dorothy said. “Here’s one: Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful. 1 Corinthians 4:2.

And we should also be faithful to God, too!” Dorothy said.  “Wow. You’re right. I should be faithful to people and God!” Rebekah said.

“Yep. But can we work on studying, now? We don’t have all day to talk!” Dorothy said.

“Oh yeah.” Rebekah said.

As they were studying away, Rebekah was thinking about how fun the night would be. “DONE!” Dorothy said. “Looks like we have half an hour until the movie starts. Do you think we can walk over there?” Dorothy said.

“Yeah. I think we can walk there.” Rebekah said.

When they got to the theater, they got the best seats! When the movie was over, everyone had to go to their homes. As they walked together, Dorothy got to her home first. This gave Rebekah and Darius some time to chat. But they didn’t. They just awkwardly stared at each other. When they got to Rebekah’s house, they waved goodbye at each other.

When Rebekah rang the doorbell, Tommy came out with a “67” Tommy said.

“Stop it.” Rebekah said.

“OOOH. Were you ALONE? WITH HIM?! Someone has a CRUSH!” Tommy said.

“NO I DO NOT! And we were NOT ALONE! Dorothy was with us, too.” Rebekah said. “We just saw a really cool movie. And we learned about faithfulness along the way.”

“Ok.” Tommy said. “Well, it’s dinnertime. You should get in the kitchen.”

“Can I pass? I just ate a LOT of popcorn.” Rebekah said.

The End.

  1. Can’t wait to read it. Oh, my gosh, I so agree with the “6-7” thing. 6-7 and 41 are dying breeds, sorry y’all. And that teasing is SOOO me and my sis. I really loved the part where Dorothy had the test and they were talking about faithfulness and camaraderie. Keep it comin’, LegoSophia!

  2. Hey legosophia! I think your story is really cool. Im a little jealous that you can stick with a project long enough to have seven chapters! I have a question tho, don’t know if you’ve already answered this 😅 but how old is Rebekah?

  3. Great job! I loved the connection to faithfulness, and their dialogue about it, but the whole chapter was really well written! Can’t wait for the next one!
