The First Seven Days of School: Chapter 10

“Jack, wait! Let’s talk this through!” Abby yelled to Jack who was already halfway across the cafeteria. Jack didn’t stop. Instead, he walked faster towards Emma’s table. Abby didn’t like where this was going. Jack’s old character was coming back and wasn’t going to be pretty. Abby ran after Jack with Sophie close behind her, but it was too late, Jack was already right in front of Emma.

“Well, isn’t it the beast. Oh, and there is beauty right behind him,” Emma said, before stopping to take a sip of her juice box, “So did you find anything good in the paper?” Even with Jack’s dark complexion you could still see his face getting redder and redder. Abby had never seen Jack this way, sure she was pretty mad too, but this was too much.

“I’ve been trying to change my character,” Jack said not-so-nicely to Emma, “but all you want to do is amuse yourself by embarrassing others!” Jack raised the newspaper in the air,

“Well, no more of this,”

Abby was quite sure that Jack was going to hit or throw the newspaper at Emma. Abby grabbed Jack’s arm, hoping to stop him.

“Jack, can I have a moment with you?” But Jack didn’t listen, instead he pushed Abby away quite hard. Abby, who was quite surprised at this, fell backward. Jack swung around and tried to grab Abby’s hand before she fell but was too late. Abby looked at Jack’s face, a look of regret and fear was shown on it. Before the impact, Abby heard only one thing from Jack.

“I’m sorry,” he said

Everything seemed to move in slow motion after that. Abby kept falling and then wham! She hit her head on the table. Suddenly everything turned black and then she heard faint voices. Abby opened her eyes, feeling dizzy and confused. When she looked up, Sophie was next to her, calling her name. Suddenly Abby felt a shock of pain in her head. She gasped for a moment making everyone jump around her. Sophie helped Abby off the floor.

A group of kids began to surround them. Suddenly a teacher pushed her way to Abby and asked if she was okay. Abby nodded and said that she had just tripped and had fallen backwards. After making sure Abby was completely okay, the teacher sent the group of kids back to their tables. Sophie helped Abby back to their table.

Abby noticed that Emma had taken another picture of her. Even though she was quite fed up at Emma, she didn’t really feel like talking to her. Back at their table Abby looked for Jack, he wasn’t anywhere in the cafeteria. Rubbing her head, she said to Sophie, “Do you see Jack anywhere? He seems to have disappeared.”

Sophie shook her head, then said, “How come you didn’t tell the teacher that Jack’s the one who pushed you?” Abby thought for a while, then said “Well Jack is just starting to change, and I know he didn’t want to hurt me on purpose, so no reason to get him into trouble.” Suddenly another shock of pain rang through her head that almost knocked her down. Abby held her head, taking shaky, deep breaths trying not to gather attention to herself.

Alarmed, Sophie suggested that Abby go to the nurses office, but Abby said she was fine. Then both girls heard the bell ring. While they headed back to class Abby looked for Jack but didn’t see him anywhere.

“I wonder if he’s scared of what I’ll do with him if I find him,” she thought silently. Just as they were going to class another shock of pain wrang through Abby’s head and it hurt more than it did before. With a loud gasp she stopped and held her head. Suddenly Abby’s world began to vanish and everything seemed to be moving. Quickly she grabbed onto the wall for balance. Finally, Sophie had enough, she practically dragged Abby to the nurse’s office. The nurse examined Abby flashing a light in her eyes and checking her head. Finally, she sighed and spoke

“Well, you’re definitely not ok. You should have come here right away.” Abby frowned then another wave of pain rang through. She winced, trying not to give the nurse another reason to scold her

“A hospital visit is in order to make sure you don’t continually get these waves of pain and to make sure you get better fast. If everything is ok, you should be back in school tomorrow. I understand that you can remember everything which is good, but you will probably need painkillers.” Abby wished she could crawl into a hole right then and there. She felt terrible physically and mentally. Even though she knew Jack didn’t mean to hurt her on purpose all of the consequences were falling on her.

Dear readers: as you can see, I changed the style of the image from anime to more realistic. I need you to comment which style you like best. The style most picked will be used for the rest of the story thanks, 🥰💜🧡💙💚💛

  1. Until I got a close-up look, I couldn’t even tell it was AI. I definitely like the realistic better. Ouch, though. What’ll happen to Abby? Did she get a concussion?

  2. Cool story and story covers! I honestly don’t know if I like the more realistic one or anime better. What app do you use to make the pictures?

  3. Wow good story! Hope she’s okay.
I like both of the story covers, but I think I like the anime one more. Both are good! Keep up the good work!
