Cold Shoulder, Chapter 2

It was the next day. After a long morning, it was recess! We climbed all the way up on a roof, about 20 feet up. Me and Kira talked.

I wasn’t holding on too well when I heard a snicker and someone yell “WATCH  OUT!” I felt something hit my head and I fell backwards. The last thing I heard was “MIRAAAAAaaa…. Then I blacked out.

When I came out of it, I noticed my neck hurt. Like HURT. Really bad. I also noticed some bandages on my arm. I started to feel dizzy and blacked out again. When I gained consciousness again, I heard a nurse whisper “she’s coming to. She won’t die after all.”

I groaned, and a nurse clad in snowy-white pushed a spotless blue curtain back.

”Oh!” She gasped in surprise. I groaned again, trying to ask what happened but not fully being able. She said in a soft voice, “Oh! Of course you would like to know what happened. You came in here with a broken neck, and a fractured arm. You were unconscious for a long time, before awaking for a short time and then falling into a coma. You were like that for a week and a half, and your parents were so worried. We are notifying your parents right now.”

After a long time my parents walked into my room. Brian’s face looked especially white. “Mira, I have something to tell you…
