Last week, 11 students at Melrose High School posted some incriminating photos to Facebook for fun. Well it turns out that it's not so fun. The principal of the school, Joseph F. Casey, suspended all of the kids. As further punishment, the students have to miss at least 60% of ther season! Wow!
Principal Casey said something very important though.
"Being an athlete is a priveledge, not a right."
This means that just because you might be a student athlete doesn't mean you can say or do anything you want. You've got to respect the position your in because you're under an even bigger spotlight that everyone else. So if you're lucky enough to be a student athlete, don't abuse your power!
