Okay, I can see where everyone is coming from, I've read the books and seen the movies, and they're really nothing to go crazy about. I realize that people think werewolves and vampires are of the devil but they're not even real. They are designed soley for entertainment purposes. Team Jacob and Team Edward crazed fans are pretty retarded, they only like them because they think that those guys are hot. ::) The Twilight Saga is pretty fake and stupid overall, but still, let people have their own opinions about it!

Okay time for a little story long ago, in middle evil times, there was a guy named Vlad the impaler and he was son of a man name dracul (that means dragon). Vlad was notorious king that kill his enemy in nasty ways and soon someone wrote a book about him dracula (meaning son of the dragon). Of course, as we know in middle times religion was and dragon represents the devil. So long story short people associate dracula/vampires with demons/witchcraft just because of the name when in reality the story was just meant to be a scary tale. So what have we learn today educate yourself instead of being ignorant and saying vampire=devil works.

You guys need to remember that your mind is like a farmers field and you need to ask yourself this question: Would God sit and watch this movie with you? And you will find your answer will be NO! God doesn't want us to sow rubbish into our minds because what you plant in your mind is what is going to grow. This movie doesn't have anything that can help you grow spiritually. We are living in the last days and people tend to compromise so easily and go against what God warns us specifically to stay away from. You can't fiddle with demonic forces (yes even by watching the movie) and think it won't have an affect on you. The devil knows how gullible young people are and targets them through music and movies. You also can't have one foot in the world and one foot in God's kingdom. You have to choose which one it is going to be. When we all stand before God one day we will have to give an account of what we have done so why not just choose the right thing now.

I'm not allowed to watch the Twilight series, but what I have seen, heard, and saw the commercials, it looks way to devlish for anyone to watch! I mean there is werewolves and vampires...doesn't that sound just a little too obvious that it would have everything to do with the devil??? I mean it's just as good as saying you can go watch more devilish things and could still watch it because it is funny!!! I don't think they are bad, they are just something you need to be careful when you read and not become obbessed with them. And there is nothing wrong with shirtless guys, they do that all the time when they go swimming. I think regardless of our personal opinions of the movie, it is true and proven that what we watch affects us whether we notice it or not and whether we believe it or not. Movies, music, television, and other media are not wrong in themselves, but when the things of hollywood are not in harmony with what jesus would want us to watch, we must decide do we want to be influenced by things of the world or things of God. This movie was obviously intended to arouse human passions that pertain to our carnal nature, but christ came to deny his carnal nature and if we are to follow him, we are to do the same.

I haven't seen any of the Twilight Movies but i don't really think that i would want to. Not because I'm not interested but because of the whole vampire werewolf thing. At first I didn't think that it was that bad but now I'm happy that my mom said no to letting me see it because Twilight doesn't really help me move towards God. I have watched both of the movies. I enjoyed them because I found the story to be well written, unlike so many movies today. But I must ask, how can something that DOESN'T exist be evil? Wizards, warlocks, witches and the like are all real. Perhaps not as depicted, but real nonetheless. I agree with the review, this movie relies to much on romance. However, why attempt to relate reality with none? This movie was meant to entertain, not teach. I apologize for the long comment, but I hope the guide faculty will allow this to be posted.

I like the Twilight Saga books, but I'm not a crazy fan. I don't scream and squeal when they got topless, or whatever. I've read all the books, sometimes re-reading my favorite parts. I think it's the kind of book that Christians should not go CRAZY about. At first it can seem innocent, for fun. I think it can be read maybe for educational use? But if you choose to go deep into the book, if you want to and actually dwell on the deep meaning, things can get bad. There are no vampires, werewolves, all that stuff. To be honest, Twilight is fiction. Chronicles of Narnia is fiction. Lion King is fiction. Lord of the Rings is fiction. It's all fake. Vampires don't exist, werewolves don't exist. I think it's pretty cool that Guide posted a movie review AND posted both pros and cons. Just because we're SDA doesn't mean we can't watch or read fiction. It is true, by beholding we become changed, but its true to a degree. I saw "New Moon" once, and don't remember a thing about it other than what was on all the commercials. I have seen the first movie (because of my sister) and do not neccesarily think that the story is bad. However the year That the books came out I was in public school and to see the books spread like wild fire it reminded me way to much of harry potter and how popular it is I think twilight may have even surppassed (in certian circles) Harry potter, the addiction and defense of the series leaves an eery warning sign. As a parent with a new foster/adoptive child we have been battling worldly influences in our new daughter who is age 12. While we have been delighted with our new daughter discovering God's Word and quickly learning to love the Guide Magazine, I am appalled at this review of a very worldly and demonic movie which among other things is deemed 'hilarious'. I've actually read some of the books and watched the movies. On one side it's bad because it is pretty much Satanic but then again if you don't believe in it and understand your limits on your beliefs it can be funny and a good way to make time pass. I read all the books and I loved them. I made so many excuses about how they weren't bad, but deep inside I knew they were. I tried to stop it but I just couldn't. I kept thinking about Twilight until finally, I just turned to God and I FINALLY quit. I felt like I was freed from this huge burden. Bottom line, God is GREAT and stuff like Twilight just isn't worth the time.
