| Drunk Driving Strikes Again |

This weekend I received the startling news that my cousin John was killed in a car crash. Sadly, that means two girls about your age are now without a dad. The part that really upsets me is that this accident was caused by a drunk driver, who hit the car John was driving head-on while trying to pass someone. The driver, a 24-year-old guy named Steven, survived the accident and went straight to jail after being treated at the hospital. Steven could spend up to 15 years in prison for killing someone as a result of his poor choices to drink and drive. Too bad Steven didn't think about how foolish it would be to get behind the wheel when he was drunk. But that's just the problem—alcohol interferes with your ability to think and make decisions. That's why as Christians we need to steer clear of it. We need our brains fully functional so we can choose what's right! Losing a family member reminds me that I don't have all the time in the world to share Jesus with my family. Most of them are not Adventists, and some are not Christians at all. I want to do what I can to make sure they know God. |
