Concert Benefits Real
by Rachel Whitaker, Associate Editor

It was their first concert ever for the Cruz sisters—Carmen, Carolina, Caryn, and Christen. The four girls, ages 9 to 15, enjoy blending their voices in harmony on a variety of Christian songs, old and new. As part of their concert, they decided to take up an offering for Real magazine and help more kids meet Jesus.

Since I’d heard how well the girls sing, I was already eager to attend this concert at my home church (Hagerstown Seventh-day Adventist Church in Maryland). When I found out I would get to present the need for Real to the audience, I was even more enthusiastic. The concert provided an opportunity for many more people to learn about Real, and there was a very favorable response. Several people took extra brochures about Real to share with friends.

To those who donated $10 or more I gave out kid “ornaments” that were drawn by Randy Fishell to represent children who receive Real (see the example below). We hope the ornaments will remind those who gave financially to pray for the children who are reading Real as a result of their gift.
