Don't Mess with Nature

This week we got to see just how powerful nature can be. Hurricane Sandy became the largest Atlantic hurricane in diameter on record, with winds spanning 1,100 miles. Wow, no wonder it was nicknamed "Frankenstorm." Check out this amazing TIME LAPSE video!

As you watch this time lapse video, keep your eyes on the lower right part of the screen (under Cuba) to see how Hurricane Sandy forms, then cuts a destructive path through the Caribbean, then heads north along the Atlantic coast. Then, all of a sudden you will notice it takes a very sharp left hand turn and slams into the northeast part of the United States causing a lot of destruction.

Sadly, some people don't take these things very seriously and go out and do things during these storms instead of seeking shelter and safety. Don't mess around with nature. It usually wins. (SPLAT!)

PART 1: My uncle and aunt and baby cousin were in New York and they waited to leave to long and suddenly a wave of water burst through the door. The current was so strong and the water was up to their necks. My uncle was holding the baby over his head and they swam to the neighbor's house. But their dog they loved so much got swept away by the current. They were left only with their clothes. EVERTHING they had was gone...
