Some people subscribe to the superstition that 13 is an unlucky number and fear Friday the 13th because they mistakenly believe that any mention of the number 13 causes bad luck. A notable example is Arnold Schoenberg, an Austrian-American composer who was born on September 13, 1874 and dreaded the usage of the number 13 because of the dark influence he felt that it wielded over his life. He was a great composer and contributed greatly to American culture, but he allowed his irrational fear of the number 13 to control him to such an extent that he refused to use the number 13 in any of his compositions.
Schoenberg’s virulent triskaidekaphobia led to his downfall when he believed a note from an astrologer on his 76th birthday in 1950 that stated that the year was especially critical in regard to his fears despite the genius he displayed in his profession and the pseudoscientific nature of astrology. According to the astrologer, the year was critical because it not only represented a multiple of 13 in the numerological sense, but the two digits that composed his age (7 and 6) added up to 13 (7 + 6 = 13). Schoenberg was immediately thrust into a mental abyss of fear and dread because his astrological and numerological proclivities had not taken his age into account, and he died on July 13, 1951. Arnold Schoenberg became victim to the superstitions that have tormented human beings since the beginning of time because they know not a Savior that can save them from the forces of hell or because individuals refuse to accept Jesus as their Redeemer. The great apostle Paul wrote about this in his letter to the Colossians: "8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ. 9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10 and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority." (Colossians 2:8-10). In his letter to the Galatians regarding the spiritual liberty that Jesus granted us through His death on the cross and His resurrection from the grave, Paul wrote: "1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." (Galatians 5:1). ps. my brother helped me write this. |

The law of God, enshrined within the ark, was the great rule of righteousness and judgment. That law pronounced death upon the transgressor; but above the law was the mercy seat, upon which the presence of God was revealed, and from which, by virtue of the atonement, pardon was granted to the...

Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis is a word coined by the president of the National Puzzlers' League as a synonym for the disease known as silicosis. It is the longest word in the English language published in a dictionary, Oxford Dictionaries, which defines it as "an artificial long word said to mean a lung disease caused by inhaling very fine ash and sand dust". So you spelled it wrong.. Khriz Kool Katz wrote:
