Hi everyone!
I have a few questions I have been thinking about. Is there a time in the Bible when God’s people didn’t obey the authorities (to obey God) when the consequence was not death? The only times in the Bible I remember people disobeying the authorities when the consequence was death. Oh, or being in jail for a long time. For example: Daniel, he would have learnt the kings magic and everything, but he stood up when the punishment would be death. My next question is when should we comply and when should we stand up? Or maybe since God only gives us what we can bear, he allows some things for some people? Like Naaman, after he got healed, he said he would have to bow when the king did, and the Lord allowed him. I think. And Daniel’s parents probably didn’t teach him much about God. (God gave the Israelites into King Nebuchadnezzar’s hand so that probably means they had turned away from God right? Sorry, my brain doesn’t seem to be functioning properly right now lol) They had just moved and could have adopted the culture of the Babylonians, so God was pleased with him at the stage he was at? I don’t know. Any ideas anyone? Warning: Spoiler! [ Click to expand ][ Click to hide ] Wow! Such a long post. Sorry if I didn’t explain things properly or you can’t understand me. |

I believe Daniel already knew a considerable amount of knowledge about God when he was taken captive. I doubt he was a child when he was taken away, so...but I think I understand what you mean. And don't worry about the post being so long, I do that too

Ok I get what you are saying. Like when in the bible when the king wanted Daniel and his friends to bow down to his "gods" Daniel refused. Think about if Daniel obeyed the king that would be going against Gods law. And when Daniel refused to bow down he was doing the right thing. If and adult or an authority over you ask you to do something wrong or something that goes against your belief. I think God would want you to choose whats right instead of doing what they said that isn't right.

Your amazing just remember that! Jesus thinks so too!
