I like a lot of the Ood Testament stories, but two of the ones that kinda inspire me are the stories of Joseph and David.
I love the story of Joseph because he went through so many trials and hard times and had every right to hate God or give up on life or not stick to his ideals, but instead of letting the bad times get to him, they made him stronger in his faith. I've always wanted to have a faith like that.
The story of David is awesome because he was such a horrible guy. Out of all of God's servants in the Bible, he is one of the worst. He did really horrible stuff...he murdered, lied, took advantage of women, disciplined his kids poorly...and yet, through all this, the Bible says that he was a "man after God's own heart." I like to remember this story when I'm in a bad mood and thinking that God can't love me unless I'm perfect. All I have to do is follow David's example and sincerely ask for forgiveness.
If you hold someone's heart in your hands,
It joins with yours and separates the arrows of war.
