I used to believe that you were required to eat your toast a certain way.

So I made sure to always start on this side of the bread, always have so many bites on this side and so many on that side, always turn my bread here, etc.

And it got to be such a habit that I continue to do it to this day.

My mom used to tell me that if I ate the seeds of any type of fruit, a tree would grow in my stomach. That scared me so much that even today I refuse to eat seeded grapes for fear that a grape vine will sprout in me.

same! I do the microwave thing and I have something with doors...

You know when you open a door but it doesn't stay open and slowly closes? When that happens to me, I usually try to do something and then open the door or keep it from closing.

Me too!

I also do it with the toaster.

So I put my toast in, run over to the drawer and grab a knife, slide across the hardwood floor and into the fridge for the butter, rush back over to the counter where the toaster is, almost tear my fingernails off trying to open the butter lid, run across the room and try to extract a plate from the cupboard with out breaking it, set it on the counter, almost pass out from hyperventilating, and then, if there's any time left, I collapse in a heap on the floor until me toast pops.

The breakfast time marathon at my house.

:P

You know the Honeycombs cereal? Someone at my church told me that if I ate it raw, bees would build a nest inside my tummy

I never believed it, but just the thought of it now is kinda scary :P

I've come to the conclusion that adults are trying to instill in us a fear so great that we must bend to their wishes unless we want to be subject to bees and trees nesting/growing in our stomachs.

LOL. I'd never thought of racing the toaster. Now I have something to do during the 24 hours it takes my toaster to toast my bread. Thanks

I did the opposite. I would always eat as many watermelon seeds as I could so that a plant would grow in me and I could have it whenever I wanted.

Optimism, amiright?

Yep.

Question: do you know how many times that I have been told: "you are a straaaaange child"?

A: approximately 107435 times. Oh wait. Make that 107436 times.

Ah. I've actually never been told that.

People at the zoo don't really talk to me, they just stare and take selfies.

Well, considering you are approximately 287, and only a six year old at heart, I don't blame the for: staring, or never calling you a strange child.

Have you ever swung a door to shut it, but you swung too lightly, so it just barely touches the threshold and doesn't go all the way in?
