I do it all the time. By the way, what church do you go to? I live in Auckland, New Zealand. I know you are from New Zealand. I might know you.

That would be so cool if we knew each other!

Lol! that was before i knew who you were!
Haha, yea I didn't tell you for a bit :P I knew who you were though!

the 1st and 2nd commandments say thou shalt have no other gods before me,, your computer, phone, whatever can be considered a god or an idol, if youre on it all the time, so texting, playing games, etc in church is a big NO NO

Quick question... I am not saying that I do or that it is good (because it's not) but do you think there are some circumstances that would allow it?
For example if a family member was in critical condition in the hospital and had just taken a turn for the worse, do you guys think that it would be appropriate to txt them that you will be coming or that you love them?
Soz I'm just being dramatic...

In most situations, I would say no to texting during the service, but in this case, I think it would be fine. If that person was in critical condition and was close to death, it is necessary to have updates, messages etc.

I agree, but if you are just texting your friends for fun then that is a different story

So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

It's not a sin to text in chruch. It's just a little inpolite and distracts you from the sermon

It is indirectly a sin. Texting in church makes you distracted from the sermon, And it draws you away from your walk with God

I think at that point you get up and leave church to go be with your family.... :blink:
... Even if it gets me convicted
I’ll still be on my knees with my hands lifted ...
... If saying I believe is out of line
If I’m judged cause I’m gonna give my life
To show the world the love that fills me
Then I want to be Guilty ...

No,The Bible doesn't say don't text in church. It's just disrespectful and draws attention away from the sermon.

Honestly, I don't see anything wrong with just replying to a text message during church, but if your constantly texting and not paying attention, then That's being disrespectful to God. If your constantly on your phone playing games or texting during church, you might as well not even come :S
