Lol, I know this topic is old but I wanna answer anyway :silly:

Last year my mom bought my little brother (6 at the time) and sister (7 or 8, I forget) a wooden rubber band gun (its super fun. I used them to shoot down flies). The rationale was that they (mostly my little bro) need to know how to protect our family, gun laws or not. We're moving out into the country :woohoo: where having a gun would be a pretty good idea not only to protect us from people but also from other unwanted critters (there's rat snakes where we're moving to :S ). If we don't know how to handle a gun, how will we be able to blast off a snakes head before it strikes and kills us??? That's how I see it

I don't think so cause for example, I remember when they used to have the fake cigarette thingys (chalk cigarette's) and they banned it from my school because its impersonating the real thing. Think, if you keep practicing to use it and stuff, you're gonna wanna know what it feels like to hold, feel, and use a real one so no. But then again, everyone has their own opinions & choices to make.

yeah i think toy guns (such as water guns and nerf, air soft) is fine as long as it doesnt make you want to hurt people... which i havent heard of anyone personally.

You forgot BB guns. in my opinion I think kids should know how to use a real gun. like my little brother. I think he is getting a 22 for his birthday. they should know how to use in a real gun like if you stay home alone and someone like breaks in and like threatens you or something but they don't have all access. like my dad has them in his closet and we know not to play with them. but I have never shot a gun and never want to even think of hurting any one. i cry if i hear that someone got shot for no reason. but if they were trying to hurt you i understand.

I don't think so because that'll give the impression that toy guns are fine and then they'll think that real guns are fine and use them like they do with Nerf or Airsoft or whatever guns.
