The main reason people stay away from Christianity is that they have a hard time with what other people say about God and what they think they see God doing or not doing in our world. Here are three questions that young and old have shared as to why they don’t believe in God or choose to follow Him:

1. If God is good, then why do evil and bad seem to reign in the world?
2. If God is all-powerful, why doesn’t He do something about pain and suffering?
3. If God is supposed to be so close, why do I feel only His absence?

How would you answer these questions? You may choose one or all.

1. If God is good, then why do evil and bad seem to reign in the world?

My answer: Because we chose (and still choose) to serve an evil and bad ruler. In the garden of Eden, man gave up his right of dominion over this world, and his rebellious nature has been passed down to us through the blood, and so we all have a natural inclination to serve our evil and bad ruler. When we choose to serve God, the good and awesome Ruler, our lives are changed for the better. Sadly, the majority choose the evil and bad ruler who tells them to do evil and bad things resulting in an evil and bad world.

1. I don't know. I'm wondering the same thing
2. I don't know. I'm wondering the same thing
3. I don't know. I'm wondering the same thing.
... Even if it gets me convicted
I’ll still be on my knees with my hands lifted ...
... If saying I believe is out of line
If I’m judged cause I’m gonna give my life
To show the world the love that fills me
Then I want to be Guilty ...

The first 2 questions have really simple answers. Free will. God lets evil exist in the world because of free will. He wants us to make our own choices, and until then, sin has to exist.

Question 1
Adam and Eve at the beginning of the world did a sin and that is how evil and bad came in to the world and it has been there ever since. It's about human choice - it wasn't God's plan.
Question 2
Pain is actually a good thing - if you don't have pain you don't know you have a problem. If we didn't have that (ie God instantly fixed it all the time) we would be more like children and never grow up to look after ourselves, avoiding things that are bad for us.
Question 3
If you feel God's absence it's that you moved away from God, not that He moved away from you.
