Or do you? I'm gonna give few questions and I wanna see if you guys can answer. The catch? You have to add a scripture or qoute trip Spirit of Prophecy for your answer to be legit. Ready? Let's do this!

1. If it against God's will for us to play competitive sports?
2. What time frame would be more accurate to the coming of Jesus, 5 years, 10 years, or 100 years?
3. Why is the date October 22, 1844 significant to Seventh Day Adventists? ( if you are a non Adventist then a little research in the right places should help you out, especially Leviticus 16 and Daniel 8).

Okay, I'll start with these so that you won't get overwhelmed. Who ever answers correctly will be recognized B)

1. I don't think it's much of of a problem as long as you do it for God. 1 Corinthians 10:31
2. I'm bad at guessing years as we can guess wrong, but sometime in the future. Matthew 24:36
3. Millerite William Miller after studying Daniel and Revelations said Jesus was coming to cleanse the earth on October 22, 1844. But when Jesus didn't come, the Adventist were disappointed and called the date the Great Disappointment.

1.I shrink always from the almost sure result which follows in the wake of these amusements. It leads to an outlay of means that should be expended in bringing the light of truth to souls that are perishing out of Christ. The amusements and expenditures of means for self-pleasing, which lead on step by step to self-glorifying, and the educating in these games for pleasure produce a love and passion for such things that is not favorable to the perfection of Christian character. – {AH 499.5}

2.quirky, I'm not sure why your askin this question,

3. Because the 2300 day prophecy ends in 1844, and it says the sanctuary will be cleansed , which points to the day of atonement , which was the only day in the year that the high priest went into the most holy place and Christ our high priest ,went there to atone for our sins in 1844

Dan 8:14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

Heb 8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;

1) Not necessarily. As long as it doesn't lead to self-glorification. Opinions vary.
2) It could be 5, 10, or 100. However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen. Only the Father knows.. We don't know if Jesus will decide to delay his coming.
3) In Daniel 8:14, Daniel was told that 2,300 years after Cyrus allowed the Jews to return to Jerusalem, the sanctuary would be cleansed. William Miller used the common view that the Earth was the Sanctuary, and because of that, misinterpreted the prophecy to mean Jesus would return in 1844. We now know that the prophecy referred to the Heavenly Sanctuary.

I'm pretty happy that you guys know how to answer the last question. I just want to clarify the second question. I'm not asking for a specific day and hour, or even a specific year. This is where you get to exercise your prophetic skills. According to the events that have taken place in the past year and what's going to happen in a few days (concerning the pope coming to the US) do you think that Jesus will put off His coming in 100 years, 10 years, or 5 years. This requires thought.

With all my heart, I believe it will be 5 years, and I want it to be 5 years. But if God chooses to tarry, then He will. I'll just be content with Him coming.

Alrighy time for answers!

1. Phillipians 2:3-Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

2 Corinthians 10:12- For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

2. Although it is my opinion (and also the opinion of a lot of people that i know), i believe that Jesus will return in less than 5 years, maybe even less than 2 years.

3. The answers that you guys gave on this one were all correct. Congrats!

Lemme know is you want another set of challenging questions. :cheer:

1. True; in Matthew 1:1 the bible says that Jesus was the sun of David, in john 4:22 when talking to gentiles. You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. saying that Jesus was a Jew, and because in Deuteronomy 7:3 the bible says, "Do not marry with them; your daughter you may not give to a Gentile's son, and you may not take a Gentile's daughter for your son." (aka Jews can't marry Gentiles) We know King David is jewish.

2. This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him: Hebrews 7:1, but the name means "king of righteousness" and "king of peace." 7:2

3. 175 years: Genesis 25:7

okay, here's the answer (well, two of them, anywho)

1. I'm gonna skip this one about King David, but I have another question (sort of): is there a difference between a Jew and a Hebrew? (@MP, why do you say no?)

2. I told you guys that this one was a trick question. You guys are right, but there's and even righter answer (Is that even a word?). try reading Hebrews 7:1-17 and check out this verse specifically:

Hebrews 7:3- Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

???

3. You guys got it right. the answer is 175 :silly:

okay, next set.

1. True or False: Christ died so that we don't have to.

2. True or False: Justification, sanctification, and glorification are essentially the same thing.

3. Only Seventh- Day Adventists will be saved.

2) False; Justification is God's judging us and pronouncing us to be righteous in His sight, sanctification is His calling us to be holy and set apart, and glorification is the ultimate reward we receive.
