To bring this topic on a more serious note, I’ll just humbly say that—based on the above verse that I just shared, Proverbs 20:6—the best kind of advice I’d give to any Christian SDA guy reading this is that the characteristic of FAITHFULNESS is a key essential to personally cultivate as a young man.

When you learn to be faithful in the little things (whether it’s work, school, serving your local church, etc.), God will—in His own time and way—entrust you with being faithful in big things (like marriage and family).

The Bible explicitly shows this truth in Luke 16:10–

He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. (Luke 16:10)

A second bit of counsel I’d share stems from Paul’s words in Philippians 4:11, which says:

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

The characteristic of CONTENTMENT is another essential I’d encourage SDA Christian guys (and even girls) to cultivate as well.

Thirdly, the characteristic of GRATITUDE is something that is important to cultivate as well. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 reveals that this characteristic is actually something God WILLS for us as Christians to grow in.

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

Now, the fourth and final piece of advice I’d share is take time to learn MEEKNESS.

Psalm 25:9 says:

The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.

It is only the meek and the humble God can lead and guide when it comes to His way—and that includes His way in relationships.

The reason why this is so is because of what it says in Radiant Religion pg. 118:

Whenever pride and ambition are indulged, the life is marred; for pride, feeling no need, closes the heart against the infinite blessings of Heaven.

And that includes the blessings of God’s guidance and leading!

So, to my brothers in Christ, I’d just like to encourage you to learn to grow in faithfulness, contentment, gratitude, and meekness. Because it’s these four underlying qualities that a godly woman will deeply admire, appreciate, and find attractive.

And of course, to my sisters in Christ as well, this is something Jesus wants us to grow in too.
