Well just think to your self "What Would Jesus Do?" Do you think you could imagine Jesus Sitting on a couch watching a horror movie? We want to be more like Jesus so if you can't imagine Jesus doing it then it probably is not appropriate for a Christian, so I don't think we should watch Horror movies.

first off, no, i dont think Christians should watch horror movies. and second, you shouldn't not watch them because your parents say so, you shouldn't watch them because you know better. i mean, what sense does it make, scaring AND scarring yourself for your own entertainment?

Don't watch them at all. island girl is right. WWJD? Why scare yourself silly when you can just go watch a lovely family movie? I don't think we would be watching horror in heaven...

I can see (in my mind of course) Jesus crying at the death of his children (or his children making movies about his children dying) while watching a horror movie.
... Even if it gets me convicted
I’ll still be on my knees with my hands lifted ...
... If saying I believe is out of line
If I’m judged cause I’m gonna give my life
To show the world the love that fills me
Then I want to be Guilty ...

Or would he watch movies at all? Hmmm, something to chew on along with your popcorn.

Exactly! Like this one: "School tomorrow."

Ok, I'm being silly, but I think all of us can agree that we shouldn't scare ourselves for our entertainment. If Jesus were sitting right next to you, would you want Him watching a horror movie where someone kills people?

I don't see why not. :side:

Or maybe the more appropriate question for me to ask is "Why would Jesus watch a movie in the first place? What would He gain from it besides wasted time?" okay, you can keep on chewing on your popcorn.

Well, what if it is a good movie? I know that there is a lot, a LOT of junk out there, but still, some movies are not bad. think about Christian movies like facing the giants, flywheel, war room, or movies based on bible things, like what the visual bible does. just a thought..

Happy birthday TP!

I personally watch movies that inspire my faith. Do you have an issue with that?

Well, I asked that because sometimes you do have an issue with other people's convictions.

@Mp

Here, let me restate the question. What would it profit you if I told you that I had an issue with you watching a movie that inspired your faith?

That you sometimes have issues with other people's convictions!! I'm done. To borrow your term; we are just going in squares.

Well then please, Mp, can you help me out? Because maybe what I see as me expressing my own opinion, you see as me having an issue with someone else's conviction. Can you show me where I am trying to force people to think like I think so I know what to look out for next time? I'm realty tired of having these unnecessary conflicts with others. :pinch:
