Well, a week ago my Pathfinder club had a campout, and on Saturday night a former TLT rounded up my friend Cooper and I, which both of us are TLTs, and we organized a game of Evasion with all the younger pathfinders. Let's just say it didn't go that great, but we still had fun. We are now planning to organize another game of something on another campout, but what game do you suggest?
Remember that it's in the dark, we have some 30 to 40 pathfinders, and Capture the Flag would most certainly not work, unfortunately. Thank you so much, guys! -- sci_geeek |

I've never heard of Evasion before, how is that played? At pathfinder camp a while ago, the older pathfinders played Tag in the campground and in the forest surrounding the lodge, it was dark and everyone wasn't allowed flashlights. I didn't play, as I was a younger pathfinder then, but I heard form the others that it was very fun.

There is a designated point where the Hiders need to get to to be safe. (when we played it was a bench in the middle of the field) The Chasers have to tag the Hiders before they get to the bench (or whatever it is you're using). When we played, because it was dark, the Chasers and Hiders could be told apart for the fact that only the Chasers had glowsticks and the Hiders had none. Also when we played, the woods were completely off limits. A total no-no. It'll be that way for any game we decide to play, cuz Coop and I want to keep the kids safe and be responsible too. Also I think the staff said we weren't allowed to, so... |

I've played that game you said "Evasion" but in my camp, they called it Stealth. It was insanely crazy. The stories I could tell from that are just...

Mainly our problem was that the kids were either cheating, complaining, not finding the designated point, or shouting/singing very loudly. The 3 of us nearly lost our voices. Not that that was the problem, just the kids wouldn't listen! |
