Pet Vet Q & A

Click on the links below to read Dr. Laurie Barcelow's advice on caring for pets, taken from her past columns in Guide magazine.

Dr. Barcelow is a small-animal veterinarian practicing in Bethel, Vermont. She's been an animal lover since age 10, when she enjoyed catching spiders, snakes, and bugs. Her desire to help every hurt animal, whether it was a skunk run over by a car or a spider her mother wanted to squish, prompted her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Dr. Barcelow has owned a collection of pets ranging from an iguana and a rat to cats, dogs, a parrot, cockatiels, finches, goats, sheep, a horse, and chickens.
